The DIFFRNT Festival Commitment
We are developing the DIFFRNT Festival as a space for creative encounters between business people, creators, and communities who believe that great ideas can emerge in balance with nature. Because the festival takes place in the natural environment of Camp Menina, we commit to organizing the event responsibly, with clear goals and concrete measures to reduce environmental impact and promote best practices even after the festival concludes.
Our commitment is based on several key areas:
Mobility
We encourage arriving at the festival by train, bus, bicycle, or carpooling. The goal is for the majority of participants to arrive without individual driving. We organize shared transport, connect participants for ride-sharing, and monitor arrival methods to assess and reduce the carbon footprint of mobility.
Catering
The festival’s culinary offer is based on a low-carbon approach: predominantly plant-based food, local and seasonal ingredients, and as many organic raw materials as possible. We collaborate with local providers, encourage the use of personal water bottles and cups, and ensure that food waste is minimized.
Waste and Materials
We plan the festival as a minimum-waste event. We have eliminated single-use plastics, we use returnable packaging, the event program is digital, and we provide clear waste separation on-site. We encourage participants to use their own glasses and bottles, as well as to share and rent equipment.
Energy and Location
The festival operates in harmony with the natural rhythm of the space. We use the camp's existing infrastructure, use energy prudently, limit night activities, and promote respectful coexistence with nature. The natural environment is not just a backdrop for the event, but an essential part of the experience.
Communication and Involvement
Responsible behavior is part of the festival culture. We encourage participants to make thoughtful decisions even before the event, while volunteers and partners help spread best practices on-site. Through gamification and community initiatives, we aim to inspire small steps that together create a big impact.
Program and Long-term Effects
We see the festival as a laboratory for ideas and change. The program includes content on organizational transformation, responsible business, and new collaborative practices. We encourage networking between organizations and the creation of new partnerships that can bring lasting change far beyond the festival grounds.
We will monitor and measure our progress; from arrival methods and waste volume to the share of plant-based food and changes in participant mindsets. We will share the results publicly and use them for further improvements.
DIFFRNT moves people, without leaving unnecessary footprints or traces.
